VIVA is a women-centered philanthropy circle supporting the work of the Latinos en Virginia Empowerment (LIVE) CENTER.

Through community, leadership, and intentional giving, VIVA brings women together to stand alongside LIVE and help ensure Latino survivors of domestic and sexual violence can access safety, support, cultural understanding, and a trusted path forward.

Why VIVA exists:

Safety should never depend on language, culture, or the ability to navigate the system alone.

For many Latino survivors, language barriers, fear, and a lack of culturally accessible services can make seeking help feel risky or impossible. Too many people are left to navigate moments of crisis on their own, or suffer in silence.

(Up to 50% of Latinos experiencing intimate partner violence do not seek help. We are not okay with that).

LIVE exists to change that reality, and VIVA exists to support that work.

What VIVA is:

VIVA is a women’s philanthropy collective supporting the work of LIVE through awareness, volunteerism, and philanthropy.

The collective brings together women who:

Believe everyone deserves access to safety and support, no matter the language they speak or the culture they come from
Believe that safety is not only about services existing, but about those services being accessible and trusted
Choose to stand behind Latino survivors of domestic and sexual violence
Want to support trusted, culturally-grounded systems of care for Latino survivors of domestic and sexual violence and abuse in Virginia

The VIVA Experience

Your impact as a VIVA member: Supporting real, tangible pathways to safety

VIVA members support LIVE’s mission through sustained giving, shared learning, and meaningful engagement. Together, members help ensure LIVE has the resources, flexibility, and community backing needed to respond when and where survivors need support most.

Support from VIVA members can help make possible things like:

Safe transportation for someone leaving an abusive situation
Meals and basic necessities during a moment of crisis
Counseling and advocacy with bilingual, trauma-informed staff
Temporary shelter and support while longer-term safety plans are put in place
Essential household support that helps families stabilize and move forward

Members are recognized on the VIVA Wall on the LIVE website, and select event materials.
Elevated visibility as a leader championing survivor safety and empowerment.
Eligibility for the annual VIVA Impact Award, honoring outstanding leadership, generosity, and community impact.

Two (2) complimentary tickets to the LIVE Annual Fundraising Celebration.
